Angel Contacts

Angel Green Lenses

After purchasing contacts from Angel Contacts so many times, I decided that I might as well share my opinion with you all about this brand. To start off, Angel Contacts is a circle lens retailer that is based in Canada, and ships to both Canada and the U.S.  I stumbled upon their website looking for some circle lenses that I could also get my prescription in (because of course I have horrible vision), and have fallen in love ever since.

I ordered my first pair of circle lenses from them in 2012, not expecting too much. To be honest, I was a little nervous to put something larger than a normal contact lens in my eye, but I placed the order anyway. The first thing that I want to point out is how affordable these lenses are. I can usually get my lenses anywhere from $25-$30 and standard shipping is usually only $5. This is a STEAL compared to other companies that are based in Asia. Those can run you over $100 dollars depending on where you get them from. The next thing I noticed was how quickly I received my order. For the two years I have been ordering from Angel Contacts, I have always received my package withing 4-5 business days. This obviously is something that will very depending on where you live, but I was still very impressed.

Now we can get on to the actual lenses themselves. As I said before, I was a bit nervous putting something in my eye that was larger than your average lens, but I went for it anyway. These lenses are EXTREMELY comfortable for being a circle lens, and I love that they don't feel uncomfortable and strange. I can usually wear mine for 6-8 hours before they feel like they are drying out. This is when I usually take mine out anyway. These lenses actual feel like they allow my eyes to breathe, even more so than my regular contact lenses. On the cosmetic side of things, I love how much larger they make my eyes look, without being overwhelming. I haven't been too adventures with my color, though. I have naturally gray/blue eyes, and have ordered the Geo Angel Lenses three times. I loved that they made my eyes not only larger, but an actual intense blue. I have also ordered the Geo Nudy Brown, which looked very natural on my eyes, and I now own the Geo Angel Green lenses. These are the most unnatural looking ones I have tried so far, and I believe it is only because of the black around the outside and the contrast with my natural eye color.

As much as I love this brand and will continue to repurchase from Angel Contacts, there a few downsides. The biggest one I have found is with the selection of circle lenses for me in particular. I have quite a strong prescription, and they only have 12 different lenses available for those of us with a prescription out of the 35 options that are available. Is this really worth complaining over, though? Not really, though it would be fun to try out a purple if it ever becomes and option!
The only other complaint I have is the cleaning of the circle lenses. For my first four pairs that I had, I cleaned them just like I clean my regular contacts. This worked alright, and my lenses lasted anywhere between 4-6 months doing it this way. I Have, however, found that buying the Jitterbug Lens Cleaner is worth it. Basically, the jitterbug is a small system that a special magnetic contact lens case sticks to. It then uses vibrations to clean your lenses on either a rapid 16 second period, or an extended 6 hour interval period. During the extended option, it will vibrate every 15 minutes to get your lenses clean. It makes a HUGE difference in how well your contacts get clean, and I now use it for both my Angel Contacts circle lenses, and my regular contacts.

My overall opinion: This company is absolutely amazing. They provide excellent circle lenses, quick shipping, and they even have a loyalty program. When you first sign up for their website, you get 100 loyalty points, and then after that you get 10 points for every dollar you spend. The best part is that you can then redeem your points when you reach at least 1,000 points ($10) and use them towards a purchase. My last order was a set of contacts and the Jitterbug, a $50 dollar order, and because of my loyalty point I only had to pay $27.93, including shipping. I will continue to recommend this brand to anyone looking for a great company to buy circle lenses from, and I will also continue to purchase from them myself!
